Box

I saw you
Aimlessly and endlessly
Circling

Not figuring it out
Not figuring it out
Not figuring it out

Like a lion in a cage - for 20 years
Like a lost piece of paper - very important
on the bottom of an old bag
Like a touch of an old woman - asking for support
And remembrance of some warm moments
in the cob-web of her past
Like his hand reaching for hers
and receiving just a cold stare

Like catching up
Like trying to catch up
Like giving up

On holiday - not finding anybody home
At work - not seeing anybodies face
Sitting on a chair that becomes
more and more expensive
every year
until no more diamonds are left unused

Do you believe in diamonds - he asked?
Do you believe in the way they reflect the light?
Do you believe in their shine?

I noticed the blue around his hair
It was an angel touching his soul

He put everything he had -
Every single thing that mattered
In a box

The box was screaming

Waiting for a day it will be opened
To uncover
Secrets
Of life that was not to be
Because of fear

Beautifully written. The fear resulting in running away from what is good and right. The running round and round in circles. Very well expressed. Aren't we all a bit in his place? How do we let go of the fear? Yes love, but oh how difficult sometimes. X
